Penny Lane MSN, CNM, IBCLC has created an education curriculum that she felt best represented her vision for achieving a healthy pregnancy, optimal birth experience and successful breastfeeding.
Four individual classes developed, one offered each month on a rotating basis. Anyone is welcome to attend; however, clients who have not previously birthed outside the hospital are expected to attend. We also ask that children remain with a loved one, as we have limited space.
Not all of our clients can commit to four Saturdays. Gretchen is available to teach within the privacy of your own home, working around your busy schedule, for a total fee of $265. These sessions have a basic outline, similar to the structure of our four individual classes, but ultimately cater to the needs of each couple.
Optimizing Pregnancy
The Midwifery Team of Believe Midwifery Services offers the Early Pregnancy Class as an opportunity to optimize your pregnancy and fellowship with like-minded couples.
You do not have to be pregnant to attend. If you are planning to become pregnant in the near future, this class can assist you in preparing for a healthy pregnancy, gathering information to make wise choices, and better understand the midwifery team at Believe.
Discussion will surround the Midwifery Model of Care, Birthing at Home, Wellness, Food Selection & Prenatal Exercise, Prenatal Testing, Natural Remedies for Common Discomforts, Warning Signs, Preparing for Birth at Home, Making Transport Arrangements, Developing a Support System, and When & How to Reach your Midwife. We'll invite another family to share their homebirth experience and of course, question and answers.
This class is strongly encouraged for all our clients, and required of all clients who have not had a homebirth experience previously.
Please register for the Early Pregnancy Class by sending us the number of people you plan to attend. We ask that attendants bring a healthy snack to share with the group. Bottled water will be provided.
Embracing Breastfeeding
Although our clients seek out our practice in effort to succeed in accomplishing a noninterventive, highly enjoyable birth experience, the vast majority birth with ease and then become quickly overwhelmed with their breastfeeding experience. Just like birth, while we were created for such purpose, breastfeeding isn't nearly as easy as one might assume; however, just like birth, your preparation and your endurance through trials offers rewards beyond measure.
We would like to offer our clients a FREE Breastfeeding Class in effort to gain the basic skills and confidence needed to transition from birth through early mothering with the greatest of peace. Your support team is more than welcome to join you; however, we do ask that you register for the class so we can accommodate all attendants.
We ask that attendants bring an appetizer to share with the group. Just as newborn babies, pregnant mommas (and their midwives) need to graze to keep their mind refreshed.
