Believe Midwifery Services

The birth team serving Believe Midwifery Services has faith that every child is a blessing from our Lord and that every woman was perfectly created for pregnancy, childbirth and lactation.  In faith of our creator and with support from man's research, we believe birth in the home is the safest and most natural place for healthy families to welcome their child.  Likewise, breastfeeding was perfectly designed for His children and is the only method of complete nutrition and whole health through weaning.

We further acknowledge that although the Lord's design for us was perfect, our fallen nature is not.  Birth is only as safe as life gets.  Therefore, the midwifery team works diligently to keep our knowledge and skill current through continued professional education, maintaining a secure healthcare network, and holding high standards for both professional ethics and personal integrity. 

The Believe birth team seeks wisdom and guidance through Biblical study and prayer.  Each Nurse Midwife and birth assistant will share her wisdom and knowledge with each family so that they may determine how to maintain the healthiest, safest and most joyful birth experience for their individual needs. 

Likewise, each family will practice healthy living, continue growing their knowledge base, make all necessary preparations for thier birth and communicate openly with their midwife.  Preparations include regular attendance and participation at prenatal and postpartum appointments, gathering necessary items for your homebirth, establishing a relationship with a collaborating physician for both mom and baby, and respecting the financial agreement.

Believe is not only a professional practice serving mothers and infants, but a ministry offering prayer, Biblical guidance, and protection through the childbearing year and beyond.  Each member prays for the Lord's guidance and wisdom, while prayerfully requesting His plan be fulfilled in each of your lives.  Each decision we make in your care is prayerfully considered.

Finally, Believe strives to create cultural change concerning maternal and child health, particularly within the church, so that all mankind will recognize the created purpose for woman throughout childbearing and mothering.  It is our heart's desire to remain sensitive to His direction, follow His guidance, and in all things bring glory to His name.

The logo for Believe was a gift from the Lord.  I was asked to give three words to describe my practice and then received this logo, with the explanation:  "while creating your logo I felt inspired by the Lord.  As you can see, mom embracing her child represents motherhood.  However, more importantly, her gaze above represents her desire for guidance from the Lord.  The flames at the bottom of her dress represent the Holy Spirit and the sun behind her represent Christ, the Lord's son."  I then knew, my practice was entirely within His will and completely in His perfect hands.
